Bernd Leukert

Bernd Leukert is head of Application Innovation and a member of the Global Managing Board of SAP AG. He is responsible for on-premise application and SAP Business One development and support, Globalization Services, and Applications Installed Base Maintenance and Support.

Leukert was appointed to the Global Managing Board in 2013 after successfully orchestrating the development and delivery of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA. He has been a member of the senior leadership team since 2008.

Leukert joined SAP in 1994 and has held various management positions in application development, technology development, software engineering, and process governance. He began as a software developer for SAP R/3 and then took on responsibilities as project lead for international customer development projects. Later, he was part of the architect team that designed the business integration of SAP R/3 to SAP partners. In 1999, he assumed development responsibility for the areas of transportation and master data. In 2001, Leukert took on responsibility for the installed base development in supply chain management as a vice president, including innovative technologies with in-memory databases. From 2005 to 2010, he was head of Quality Governance and Production in the COO board area.

Leukert holds a master's degree in business administration with emphasis on engineering and information technology from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He also spent one year at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
